Empowering People with Disabilities:

Distribution of Aids and Appliances:/Disabilities:

Organised an Assessment Camp of Aids and Appliances to PWDs under CSR programme of ONGC on 10 th November, 2013 at Baripada College, Baripada and on 11 th November, 2013 at Rairangpur Women’s College, Rairangpur.

In total we catered 586 disabled beneficiaries in Mayurbhanj district by providing Tri Cycles (Conventional Hand Propelled (HAMRAHI), Wheel Chairs Folding Standard Model Adult Size and Child Size (MAMTA), Crutches Auxilla Medium, Large, Crutch Elbow Adjustable Size I and II, Walking Stick, Rolator S-I( Child) and S-II ( Adult), Folding White Canes for the Blind, Braille Slates Type A Size 355X 245 mm and BTE Digital Type Hearing Aid, BTE Hearing Aid 6 Pack of 13 Zinc-Air Battery etc to Children of Blind School, Deaf and Dumb School, and the disabled people.

The programme was organized in cooperation with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) (A Govt of India Undertaking) and District Administration, Mayurbhanj. We have done similar programme in Puri district also.

Sisu Vikas Samiti also distributed Aids and Appliances to 113 cured Leprosy patients on 22nd December, 2016 at Jibaram Leprosy Colony, Puri after identification of genuine Beneficiaries by ALIMCO, Kanpur in cooperation with Sisu Vikas Samiti. Similar Programme was also conducted in Nimapara Block of Puri district.

All the programme were organised in cooperation with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO)( A Govt of India Undertaking), Bhubaneswar Unit, and District Administration, Mayurbhanj & Puri respectively. We have already conducted an Assessment Camp in Berhampur in Ganjam district of Odisha in cooperation with ALIMCO and District Administration, Ganjam on 18th February, 2026 and yet to distribute the Aids and Appliances to the PwDs.

This initiative is expected to significantly improve functional abilities, independence and dignity of PwDs, enable better access to education and livelihood opportunities, and reinforce the district’s commitment to inclusive development.
